What is Demand Planning?

SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP), which is powered by SAP HANA, is a cloud-based next-generation planning solution that helps overcome key supply chain challenges and enables organizations ensure smooth and efficient supply chain and planning processes. The solution was designed to improve efficiency, accuracy, and speed as a result of getting, organizing, and analyzing significantly large amounts of data with ease.

SAP IBP consists of the following five modules

Demand Planning, which is a crucial element of SAP IBP, is an end to end demand planning engine that integrates traditional medium and long term planning based on statistical methods. It is based on a user-friendly Microsoft Excel interface, which integrates both automated and exception-based planning processes and traditional/manual capabilities for planning. This solution allows for demand sensing models that are more accurate and thus enables organizations to improve forecast accuracy for their short and medium term planning cycles.
